Building skills, character, and friendships,
one fun activity at a time

Think Young Camps is a long-standing program of THY, implemented during school holidays and dedicated to children. The program is designed to create joyful, educational, and inclusive environments where children can learn, play, and grow together beyond the classroom.

Organized primarily in rural areas, Think Young Camps bring together children from all communities living in the Prizren region, creating a shared space where diversity is experienced naturally through cooperation, friendship, and play. The camps are grounded in the belief that early positive interaction helps build mutual respect, understanding, and strong social bonds.

The program focuses on educational games, team-based activities, creative workshops, and outdoor play, using non-formal education methods tailored to children’s needs. All activities are designed to encourage teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence, while ensuring that learning remains fun, engaging, and age-appropriate.

A distinctive value of Think Young Camps is the involvement of Italian volunteers, who work side by side with local volunteers. This collaboration brings international expertise and new educational approaches to Kosovo, while also ensuring strong local ownership and cultural sensitivity. Together, volunteers create a safe and supportive atmosphere where children feel encouraged to participate, express themselves, and support one another.

Through shared games, group challenges, and creative expression, children interact naturally with peers from different community backgrounds, building friendships, developing social and emotional skills, and learning the value of cooperation and empathy. By encouraging collaboration and mutual support, the camps help reduce stereotypes and gently break down social barriers from an early age.

Through Think Young Camps, THY works closely with different communities to promote social cohesion, inclusion, and positive interaction in rural areas. By creating shared learning and play spaces for children, the program invests in the foundations of a more connected, trusting, and inclusive society—starting from the youngest generation.
